Ole Miss Wide Receiver Tre Harris officially declares for 2025 NFL Draft

Oxford, Miss. – Ole Miss leading receiver Tre Harris became the first Rebel player to declare for the 2025 NFL draft, and although he will not be the last, the senior bids farewell with his official announcement on Friday afternoon.

“Through prayer and God’s guidance, I am blessed with the opportunity to take the next step of making my lifelong dream of playing in the NFL become a reality by declaring for the 2025 NFL draft.”

With a bowl game still in sight for Ole Miss, wide receiver Tre Harris declared for the 2025 NFL draft on Friday, December 6. Although, it was clear from the start of the 2024 season that the Rebels’ top target would be heading to the next level by the end of the year.

Harris arrived in Oxford in the Spring before the start of the 2023 college football season, immediately enshrining his name in the history books in his Ole Miss debut scoring four touchdowns to set the single-game record for the Rebels. A year later, his teammate Jordan Watkins would beat that record, catching five touchdowns against Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Jaxson Dart‘s top target finished his Ole Miss career with 2,015 receiving yards on 114 grabs, scoring 15 touchdowns as well. Harris began his college career at Louisiana Tech, redshirting and then playing a pair of seasons for the Bulldogs before hitting the portal. According to Sports Reference College Football, Harris is fifth amongst active NCAA receivers in career receiving yards with 3,542 yards and fourth in receiving touchdowns with 29.

Although Ole Miss will know its 2024 bowl matchup in the next week, it is unlikely Harris will play another game in a Rebel uniform. The groin injury that caused the Rebel receiver to leave the LSU game occurred again in the Florida game in late November, an injury that prevented the Harris from playing in four games this season.

Harris finished the 2024 season with 60 catches for 1,030 yards and 7 touchdowns, leading the SEC for a majority of the season in yards and finishing in second to end the year.

The Rebel wideout is a projected late second round to early third round draft pick on most major platforms, projected to go late in the second round in the latest three-round mock draft from Pro Football Focus (PFF). The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin starting on April 24 and concluding on April 26.

Soon enough, Harris will be making more insane catches like this one on Sundays for someone’s favorite team.
