Ole Miss Set to Host No. 1-Ranked Portal Player: Nebraska Transfer EDGE Princewill Umanmielen Checking Out the Rebels
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss football is hosting a familiar name this weekend as Nebraska transfer EDGE Princewill Umanmielen is set to visit Oxford beginning Wednesday, according to our sources.
The 6-foot-5, 245-pound Princewill is the younger brother of Ole Miss defensive lineman Princely Umanmielen, who transferred to the Rebels last season from Florida and has made his mark on the Rebels’ program.
Princewill is ranked not only the No. 1 EDGE in the transfer portal, but also the No. 1 overall player in the portal for this cycle.
At Nebraska, Princewill Umanmielen played in all 12 games in 2024, recording 13 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and .5 sacks.
As a true freshman, Umanmielen notched 22 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack, along with four quarterback hurries. He was named second-team Freshman All-American for his efforts.
Ole Miss defensive line coach Randall Joyner and defensive coordinator Pete Golding would love to get the younger Umanmielen out of the portal and in Oxford — and having him in for a visit today is the first step.
Princewill played high school football at Manor (Texas) High School and was a four-star prospect. He was ranked the No. 24 EDGE in the nation and was the No. 38 overall athlete at any position in the talent-rich state of Texas.
