Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart pens heartfelt message to Rebel Nation as he prepares to play in one final game for red and blue
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss senior quarterback Jaxson Dart penned a heartfelt letter to Rebel Nation as he approaches what will be his final time wearing the red and blue when he takes the field in the Gator Bowl in just six short days.
After Ole Miss’ appearance in the bowl game, Dart and many of his teammates will begin to prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft. With many, many players around the country opting out of their bowls, it is both refreshing and meaningful that the Rebels have almost all planning to play — including their record-breaking quarterback.
Dart posted the following, and then also tweeted a video that made this author a little teary.
“To Rebel Nation – words cannot express the depth of my feelings and emotions in this moment… but “THANK YOU” seems like the right place to start.
THANK YOU for the love and support that y’all have showed me at Ole Miss. Who would have known that a kid who grew-up in Utah would find his way to the great state of Mississippi in order to fulfill his college gridiron dreams. I really and truly came of age at this great University, THANK YOU.
To my teammates- you are my brothers forever! I will never forget you and I will be rooting for you endlessly. YOU were what made all of this so special. Being by your side as your friend and teammate has changed me for the better.THANK YOU.
To Coach Kiffin, Coach Weis, and the entire Coaching Staff, THANK YOU for pouring into me…for pushing me…for caring about me beyond the white lines. Y’all made me a better player and a better man. I love and appreciate y’all more than you’ll ever know.
To the Ole Miss community, I did everything in my power to make y’all proud as a person and player.
I can say with absolute certainty, that I gave it everything I had, to bring you wins, success, and excitement. I will never, ever forget your love and support. THANK YOU.
All of this being said, we have unfinished business. I CAN’T WAIT to put on that #2 Ole Miss jersey for one last ride with my guys before beginning preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft. As always, I promise to leave every ounce of what I’ve got on that football field one last time for Ole Miss. THANK YOU and Hotty Toddy!

As we mentioned in an article earlier Friday, Dart is among the top 10 quarterbacks available in this year’s upcoming draft. He currently sits at 27 wins as Ole Miss QB, the most by any Rebel quarterback.
In 2024, before the bowl game, Dart has tallied 3,875 passing yards with 25 touchdowns — and he has averaged 322.9 passing yards per game, which is the most in the Southeastern Conference.
Earlier this year, Dart broke Eli Manning’s record for career passing yards in school history. Throughout his three-year career with Ole Miss, Dart has thrown for 10,163 yards and 68 touchdowns. He’s also the first All-SEC First-Team QB from Ole Miss since Eli Manning in 2003.
And let’s not forget Dart’s 30 consecutive completions across two games early in the season. This stands as the second-most in college football history and ranks first among Power 5 quarterbacks.
Against Arkansas this season, Dart set the single-game passing record with 515 yards, going 25-for-31 through the air to break Matt Corral’s single-game mark of 513 set in 2020 against South Carolina. He added a team-high 47 rushing yards for 562 total yards to break Archie Manning’s single-game record of 540, which has stood since the 1969 meeting with Alabama
Simply put, Dart leaves a long-lasting and meaningful legacy at Ole Miss that will be hard to top — whether it was with his play or his leadership.
Here’s the video Dart posted as he gets ready to say “farewell.”
