Ole Miss offensive lineman Cam East withdraws name from transfer portal

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss offensive lineman Cam East has withdrawn from the Transfer Portal after entering it back in early December. The news was first reported by On3.

The Marrero, Louisiana native, who played for St. Augustine High School, was a member of the 2021-22 signing class and redshirted in 2022. He played in two games in 2023. This year, the 6-foot-7, 270-pound offensive tackle did not see any action for the Rebels.

Back in his recruiting cycle, East was committed to Mississippi State for six months before flipping to Ole Miss. At the time, he was ranked the No. 28 OT in the nation (per On3) and the No. 17 overall player in Louisiana.

When he originally announced his decision, East tweeted the following:

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for the blessings and opportunities I’ve experienced during my time at Ole Miss. I’m also sincerely grateful to the coaches, teammates and community for their incredible support.

“After much consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal. This was not an easy choice, as I have deep respect for the program and all those who have supported my journey. I am eager to explore new opportunities ahead.”
