Ole Miss adds Marshall transfer linebacker Jaden Yates; First Team All-Sun Belt defender led league in tackles
OXFORD, Miss. — On Thursday, Marshall transfer linebacker Jaden Yates committed to Ole Miss per a report from Pete Nakos.

Yates will have three years of eligibility remaining and had portal interest from Colorado, Houston, Florida State, Tennessee, USC, UCLA and others.
Yates was a force in the Sun Belt Conference this past season, finishing with 114 tackles, tops in the league, and was named All-Sun Belt First Team.
He ranked 13th in the nation in total tackles.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Yates notched seven tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups, and one sack last season. He also tallied 10+ tackles five different times in 2024.
In the class of 2023, the Gahanna Lincoln (Ohio) linebacker was a three-star prospect who chose Marshall over Kentucky, Ohio, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Yates will look to join Suntarine Perkins and TJ Dottery as linebackers in Pete Golding’s defense.
