Ole Miss RB Henry Parrish, Jr. Praises Fan Base, Offensive Line Following Monster Performance vs. MTSU

OXFORD, Miss. – The Rebels are officially 2-0 on the season after defeating Middle Tennessee State, 52-3, in Vaught-Hemingway Saturday afternoon. The Ole Miss offense combined for over 650+ yards, including 165 rushing yards and four touchdowns from starting running back Henry Parrish Jr.

When talking about the game, Henry credited the offensive line for creating open run lanes nearly every time he touched the ball.

“I gotta give all the credit to the big boys up front, they lead the way. Just going about my details, Coach (Kevin) Smith harps on it every day in practice, details change pictures, so I was just going about my keys and making the runs go.”

– Parrish Jr. on his spectacular performance

Not only did Parrish Jr. propel the Ole Miss offense for a majority of the game, but he also set a personal record today, rushing for the most yards and scoring the most touchdowns in a single game through his college career.

Parrish Jr. says playing an improved offense while feeling stronger and faster has helped him keep his focus and work harder than ever before.

It feels good because every day I come into work. I don’t complain, I work. I grind, I grind hard, and you’re going to see it on the field.

– Parrish Jr. on his mindset

Moving forward, it will be essential for Lane Kiffin to continue to feed Parrish Jr., especially in SEC play, to open up the passing game for Jaxson Dart and the talented wide receivers of the Rebs.

Fortunately, running behind one of the most talented offensive lines in the nation, Henry has a prime opportunity to break out this season, unlike any of his prior years as a college football player.

Parrish Jr. played his freshman and sophomore seasons for the Rebels, seeing action in all 23 games across two seasons in 2020 and 2021. He transferred out in 2o22 to play at Miami during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, with Coach Smith who was there at the time.

But he’s back in an Ole Miss uniform and is happy about his return.

This is why I came back. For the fans, we have a loving fan base just all around the organization. I love this place. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.”

– Parrish Jr. on his return to Ole Miss

Ole Miss and Wake Forrest will kick off at 5:30 p.m. next Saturday, but until then, be sure to stay tuned with The Rebel Walk. Hotty Toddy!
