Ole Miss tight end Caden Prieskorn looking forward to Rebels’ season opener
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss senior tight end Caden Prieskorn met with the media this week and talked about his eagerness to begin the 2024 season healthy. Prieskorn, who missed the first few games last season due to an injury, is looking forward to taking the field in today’s season opener fully one-hundred percent.
“It’s awesome to finally go into the season healthy,” Prieskorn said.
“I feel like the couple of years I have had some injury. I had a foot injury and some other lingering injuries that bothered me in the first couple of games. It feels good to go out with my guys and my brothers and really try and go get some W’s.”
Prieskorn added that coming into this season, this is the healthiest he has felt.
“It has been one of my main goals to be healthy going into this season,” he said. “’Cause I had felt like I hadn’t had that. I feel like this is the best I have felt ever — my body and everything.”
Prieskorn really made strides throughout the 2023 season, culminating with being named Offensive MVP of the Rebels’ Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl win over Penn State.

There’s no doubt he brings a veteran presence to the team.
“Really do all the right things on and off the field and do it the right way,” Prieskorn said when asked how he goes about his game.
“Lead by example. I feel like a lot of guys look up to me with my work ethic and the way I go about practice and stuff like that. I really just got to handle my business and keep going. Just lead by example and keep going and show these younger guys the ropes.”
Caden Prieskorn on his role on the team
Coach Kiffin on Prieskorn: “He leads by example by how he works. You never know how players can help coaches. He lost his father 10 months ago and watching him have to go through that…. Now, he’s helping me go through it. He’s awesome.”

On Monday, head coach Lane Kiffin and quarterback Jaxson Dart discussed how the running game is going as the Rebs enter into the season. Prieskorn, too, added his thoughts
“I feel like it’s going really really good,” Prieskorn explained. “I feel like we have great backs that any of them can play. Just like (we have) great o-linemen and any of them can play. I feel like with that they have shown a great job in camp and they are going to show a great job this week.”
Prieskorn, who opted to return to the Rebels for a final season, also talked about what it is like for him entering year two in the system and seeing the Ole Miss offense evolve under Kiffin and offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr.
“It’s been very helpful being here another year and learning the offense and getting a better relationship with Dart. Getting another year and having the coaches trust me and stuff like that it’s definitely been very helpful and I’m grateful for that.”
