Ole Miss RB Henry Parrish looking to go ‘1-0′ every day, Blocking out the Rebels’ preseason hype
OXFORD, Miss. – Henry Parrish Jr. is officially back in red and blue for his final year of college football after spending his last two seasons with the Miami Hurricanes. Despite rushing for 1,242 yards and carrying the ball 231 times for Miami, Parrish never doubted that he needed to finish his career right where it began.
“This is where I started at, so it was a no-brainer to come back and finish what I started.“

As Parrish pointed out, a large part of his homecoming had to do with his relationship with running backs coach Kevin Smith, who previously coached Parrish at Ole Miss and Miami in 2022.

“I’ve been with Coach Smith since freshman year. He was my first offer out of high school, so we’ve always had that connection and bond, so coming back felt awesome. Like I said, this is where I started, he was my coach here. Just to finish it with him, I’m excited for this year.“

Working with Smith and an entirely different offense, Parrish has noticed that regardless of the learning curve, he’s had the opportunity to become an important part of the Ole Miss passing game by running routes out of the backfield and even lining up in the slot position.
When asked about his relationship with quarterback Jaxson Dart, he explained that the two are consistently communicating with each other on and off the field.
“It’s been cool, we’ve been chopping it up, on the field and off the field, just picking each other’s brains.“

While adjusting to a new group of teammates, Parrish has also made a point to try and stay internally focused, blocking out the preseason hype and expectations surrounding this year’s Rebels.
“I’m just going out to practice every day with the mindset of going 1-0 every day, attacking the day. Like I said, be where my feet are at, take it one play at a time, not get too far ahead, and put my head down working.“
