Alfred had committed to Ole Miss back on April 9, but he recanted on June 24 as he wanted to take a little more time to weigh his options.
But make no mistake, the four-star prospect who is originally from Gautier, Mississippi, still held the Rebels in high regard as he looked to choose between Ole Miss and Clemson.
The 5-11, 185-pound Alfred is rated as the No. 57 receiver in America and the No. 17 player in the class of 2025 in the state of Alabama, according to 247Sports.
There’s no doubt a decision with so much importance is one Alfred wasn’t taking lightly. On Monday, he tweeted his thoughts and explained he would announce today.
Over the past weekend and visited two amazing places (Clemson and Ole Miss), both unique and special in their own way. I initially thought about making my commitment decision today. However, after thinking about it more I’m delaying my announcement until August 2nd

“Over the past weekend [I] visited two amazing places (Clemson and Ole Miss), both unique and special in their own way,” Alfred’s post read. “I initially thought about making my commitment decision today. However, after thinking about it more, I’m delaying my announcement until Aug. 2.“

Back in June, as mentioned above, Alfred was one of three prospects who decommitted from Ole Miss on the same day. However, Ole Miss has since regained the pledge from EDGE Corey Amos who recommitted to the program this past weekend.
Alfred’s stats
Alfred had an outstanding sophomore season at Gautier, notching an amazing 57 receptions for 1196 yards and 15 touchdowns, while averaging 21 yards per catch. Then, he followed that up at Saraland with a strong junior season where, despite being the focal point of defenses he faced, he still tallied 35 receptions for 586 yards and 6 touchdowns.
