Back in 2022, as a freshman, Elliott became a key contributor to the Rebs’ national championship run and made 12 starts with eight relief appearances. In over 80 innings pitched, the southpaw posted a 5-3 record and a 2.70 earned run average.
His most notable outing occurred in Ole Miss’ final game of the 2022 season when the Rebs defeated Oklahoma to win the Men’s College World Series. Elliott pitched 6.2 innings and only allowed three hits and two earned runs.
Though he has battled arm injuries over the last two seasons, there is no doubt that his leadership, poise, and overall ability will become a crucial part of next year’s squad. This is fantastic news for head coach Mike Bianco and the team and is something every Ole Miss fan should look forward to next season.
