2025 IMG Academy Cornerback Major Preston Chooses Ole Miss
OXFORD, Miss. — Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss earned another prized defensive commitment Saturday as talented 2025 cornerback Major Preston pledged to Ole Miss, taking to YouTube live Saturday evening to announce where he would call home.
The four-star IMG Academy (Fla.) corner had narrowed his decision down to four — Ole Miss, Colorado, Florida and Virginia Tech — before choosing the Rebels.
Preston, a Virginia native, saw a burst in his recruitment after making the transfer to IMG. He stands as the No. 56 corner in the 2025 class and the No.86 overall athlete to come out of Florida.

The 6-foot-0, 187-pound Preston took an official to Ole Miss back in June and it paid off. So just what are the Rebs getting in this dynamic player? Well, to start with, another extremely athletic and versatile playmaker.

During his 2022 campaign at Hopewell in Virginia, Preston was a two-way player, taking charge on the defensive side of the ball as well as on the offensive side. He also tallied 29 catches for 449 yards and one touchdown. He closed out his sophomore season making the Richmond Times-Dispatch All-Metro Honorable Mention team for his defensive efforts.

In 2023 at IMG, Preston was utilized as a cornerback and safety. He totaled six tackles against Lipscomb Academy, five tackles against Ben Davis, five against Glenville and two tackles versus St. Joseph’s Prep.
It should also come as no surprise that Preston is an extremely talented track and basketball athlete.
