Two former Ole Miss football legends make ballot for 2025 College Football Hall of Fame

OXFORD, Miss. — Earlier this week, the National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame announced the names of those who made the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot, and two former Ole Miss linemen are on the list.

Former Rebel legends Terrence Metcalf and Michael Oher are each in the running for the prestigious honor.

Terrence Metcalf

Metcalf was an offensive lineman at Ole Miss from 1998-2001. He played his first season under Tommy Tuberville, before then being coached by David Cutcliffe.

The Clarksdale, Miss. native was a three-time All-American, earning first-team honors in each of his final two seasons in Oxford. He was also named All-SEC two times. Metcalf was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft, where he remained until 2008. He retired in 2010.

As most Rebels know, Terrence is also the father of former Ole Miss and current NFL wide receiver DK Metcalf. He is also currently the head coach for Coahoma Community College in his hometown.

Michael Oher

Oher played for Ole Miss from 2005-2008, earning All-SEC honors three times during his tenure in Oxford. He was a unanimous All-American in 2008 as the Rebels finished 9-4 that season — with a win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders and head coach Mike Leach in the 2009 Cotton Bowl.

The Memphis, Tenn. native earned All-America honors, as well as All-SEC recognition, for the Rebels. After he helped lead Ole Miss to a the Cotton Bowl win, Oher was drafted in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft and suited up for three teams before his retirement: the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers.

Oher owns a title ring for the Ravens’ win over San Francisco in Super Bowl XLVII in 2013. Oher was also the subject of the 2009 film The Blind Side, documenting his rise from poverty to a highly-coveted football player.

Voting

Voting on this ballot is open through July 1 to National Football Foundation members. The announcement of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2025, according to the NFF. The class will be officially inducted during the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner in Las Vegas on Dec. 9, 2025.
