Manning Passing Academy: Eli Manning offers high praise for Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart
THIBODEAUX — The Manning Passing Academy is underway for its 28th year, featuring quarterbacks such as Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss), Carson Beck (Georgia), Jalen Milroe (Alabama), Quinn Ewers (Texas), Brady Cook (Mizzou), and Arch Manning (Texas), who are all counselors for the high school players in attendance.
Despite working with the college studs, the players participating also have the opportunity to talk with Archie, Cooper, Peyton, and Eli Manning, three of whom were Ole Miss Rebels.
When speaking to the media at yesterday’s camp, Eli was asked about what it’s been like collaborating with the current Ole Miss quarterback, Jaxson Dart.
“I’ve been to games, and I’d seen him briefly, but it was the first time really getting to sit down with him, hang out with him, go on stage, and tell some stories. I enjoyed his personality. I was able to take some lighthearted digs at him, and he reciprocated and did the same with me, which is fun, that’s what it’s all about, it kind of makes it special for the group. I got to hang with him last night and eat dinner with him, he seems like a great kid and has a good head on his shoulders. I’m excited about his future.”

“I’ve seen the expectations before,” Manning said to media and posted by Matt DeGregorio of WLOX in Biloxi. “It doesn’t always work out that well, but I think this year, I hope it’s different. I think it’s some true excitement for good reasons, and a lot of it is Jaxson Dart, and a lot of it is offensive line, receivers, and talent they have on defense. Look forward to watching them, hopefully getting to some games, and hopefully they can make a good run,” Eli added.
As it stands, Dart has thrown for 6,338 yards as a Rebel and is 3,781 yards away from passing Manning (10,119) to go down with the most passing yards in the history of Ole Miss quarterbacks. Though the task will be difficult, Dart threw for 3,364 last season and is expected to play alongside a much-improved offense in the fall.
Eli talked about Dart playing for a third year in Lane Kiffin’s system.
“I think the opportunity to be a three-year starter going into his final year is such a great advantage. You know, just knowing the system, having been there a long time, you get to grow as a leader, know what plays you like, what you need to work on.“

There is no doubt Dart and Eli will go down as two of the most beloved Ole Miss quarterbacks of all time.
