Four Ole Miss Rebels Named to Athlon’s Preseason First-Team All SEC Team

OXFORD, Miss. — The preseason awards continue to roll in for Ole Miss football players. Athlon Sports has released its First-Team All SEC honors, and four Rebels are on the list.

Tre Harris, Caden Prieskorn, Walter Nolen, and Antwane “Juice” Wells, are were the four selected — and, frankly, there could have been more as this is head coach Lane Kiffin’s strongest roster since arriving in Oxford.

Interestingly, all four on the list are players who arrived at Ole Miss via the transfer portal, further evidence of the mastery from Coach Kiffin, the “Portal King.

Wide receiver Tre Harris and tight end Caden Prieskorn transferred in before the 2023 season and helped lead Ole Miss to the most wins (11) in school history.

Caden Prieskorn: For his performance in the Peach Bowl win over Penn State, Prieskorn was named Offensive MVP after hauling in 10 catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns in the Rebels’ decisive victory.

Tre Harris: Harris began 2023 with four touchdowns in the win over Mercer. Unfortunately, he later missed time due to an injury suffered in the win over Tulane. However, he still led the team with 54 receptions on the season for a career-high 985 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Walter Nolen: Defensive tackle Walter Nolen transferred in this off-season from Texas A&M. He was the number one player listed in the portal and chose Ole Miss over just about every top program out there.

Juice Wells: The 6-foot-1 Wells started his first two years at James Madison University and then transferred to South Carolina after his second season at JMU — a season that saw him tally over 1,000 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. In 2022 at South Carolina, Wells led the Gamecocks in receptions, yards, and receiving touchdowns.
