Portal King Lane Kiffin and the Rebs at it Again! Transfer Running Back Rashad Amos Commits to Ole Miss, Flips from Colorado

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss hosted Colorado running back commit Rashad Amos earlier this week — and the visit went well as Amos announced his commitment to Ole Miss Saturday.

After spending a couple of seasons with South Carolina, where he redshirted his freshman year (2020), the 6-foot-2, 234-pound Amos transferred to Miami (Ohio) where he had a breakout season in 2023, his redshirt sophomore season.

With the RedHawks last year, Amos rushed for 1,075 yards and 13 touchdowns, good enough to rank him third in the Mid-American Conference in rushing yards and second in TDs.

Amos had previously committed to Mississippi State on April 13, before then committing to Deion Sanders and Colorado on April 26.

At Miami last year, Amos crossed the 100 yard-plateau four times. In the Red Hawks’ Cure Bowl game against Appalachian State, Amos notched a career-high 180 rushing yards on 33 carries.

Amos, from Fayetteville, Ga., played for Sandy Creek High School where he helped lead the Patriots to the GHSAA 4A Semifinals. His senior year, he ran for 1,324 yards and 30 touchdowns.

Transfers in to a talented RB Room

Amos joins a running back room that should be considered one of the top in the nation.

Ulysses Bentley IV returns, and to his talent the Rebels added transfer Logan Diggs (LSU) in January, and spring transfer Henry Parrish (Miami via Ole Miss).

Before transferring to the Hurricanes, Parrish was at Ole Miss for two seasons and ran for 816 yards in his 161 carries with five touchdowns. He also tallied 28 receptions for 232 receiving yards.

In his first season with Miami, Parrish finished with a career-high 617 yards and four TDs, earning Third-Team All-ACC honors. Last season, Parrish appeared in 10 games and rushed for 625 yards and 6 TDs on 100 carries. He finished as Miami’s leading rusher for the second-straight season. He will be a fifth-year senior next season.

It will be fun to watch this running back room in 2024. Look for them to be one of the best in the nation.
