Ole Miss’ Andrew Fischer Earns Second Team All-SEC Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – (Release) The Southeastern Conference released the 2024 All-SEC Baseball Team Monday afternoon and Ole Miss’ Andrew Fischer earned Second Team All-SEC honors.

Fischer becomes the 74th Rebel in the Mike Bianco Era to earn All-SEC honors and the first to do it at the DH/UT position since Stephen Head in 2005.

The sophomore leads Ole Miss’ offense in slugging percentage, hits, RBI, triples, total bases, and home runs. He is also second in runs scored and third in walks and batting average.

His 20 home runs are eighth in the SEC and his 57 RBI are the 12th-highest mark in the conference. He is also ranked 12th in total bases and 18th in slugging percentage.

On May 14, Fischer became just the fourth Rebel in program history to hit 20 home runs in a season getting his 20th in the first inning against Southern Miss. He joined Jason Huisman, Brian Pettway, and single-season record holder Tim Elko in the 20-home run club.

Earlier this month, Fischer also became the first Rebel since Logan Power in 2007 to hit a home run in four straight games. He went yard in all three games of Ole Miss’ series against Auburn and for a fourth time against Murray State.
