Transfer to the Sip: Chris Beard adds another transfer as Belmont’s Malik Dia commits to Ole Miss
OXFORD, Miss. – Chris Beard and the men’s basketball team have received another commitment out of the transfer portal, this time from Malik Dia, a former Belmont Bruin.
Ole Miss has received a commitment from Belmont’s Malik Dia. The 6’9 240lb Forward had the highest usage % in the NCAA
Averaged 16.9 PTS and 5.8 REB in 23.1 MPG.

Similarly to Mikeal Brown-Jones who committed Saturday, Dia possesses an impressive 6-foot-9, 240-pound frame. Over this past season at Belmont, the sophomore played in 33 games, averaging 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.

Despite being a force in the paint, Dia has also shown that there is plenty of potential in his jump shot, shooting 48 percent from the field. Following his impressive year at Belmont, Dia was named to the Missouri Valley Conference third team.

During his time in the transfer portal, Malik was contacted by schools including Indiana, Florida, UConn, Wisconsin, Virginia, Arkansas, USC, and others. For Dia to choose Ole Miss speaks volumes about Chris Beard, his coaching staff, and the resources available at Ole Miss.
