Ole Miss’ Marquesha Davis Earns Invite to the 2024 WNBA Draft
NEW YORK – (Release) After being named First Team All-SEC this year and posting the best season of her career, Marquesha Davis has been invited to the 2024 WNBA Draft this Monday (April 15) from the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York at 6:30 p.m. CT.
In her two seasons at Ole Miss, Davis has elevated her game to new heights and became one of the most captivating players in the SEC. Scoring in double figures in 25 games this past season, Davis paced the Rebels in scoring with an average of 14.6 points per game. Davis also eclipsed the 1,000 career-scoring threshold to become the 36th Rebel to reach the mark.
Totaling eight 20-point performances this season, with six of those coming during conference action, Davis joined teammate Madison Scott to become the 16th and 17th Rebels to earn First Team All-SEC accolades. In SEC play, Davis averaged 15.7 points per game while shooting at a clip of 45.8%. On the defensive end, Davis is averaging 1.5 steals per outing and snagged a season-best four times. Davis set a new career-high with 33 points in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals, scoring the second most points by a Rebel in an SEC Tournament game.
With the assistance of Davis, Ole Miss set a program record with a best of 12 SEC wins and reached 20 wins for the third consecutive season. As a team, the Rebels held a school record 11 opponents under 50-points and shattered the single-season block record as a team with 190 rejections.
Davis looks to become the seventh Rebel drafted in school history, Monday (April 15) at 6:30 p.m. CT, airing on ESPN.
