Daijahn Anthony discusses training regimen for NFL Draft, impact of Coach Pete Golding
OXFORD, Miss. Former Rebel safety Daijahn Anthony took the stage following his Pro Day at Ole Miss this week, and as a player who also competed in the NFL Draft combine, he was pleased with how he performed in the Manning Center Wednesday.
“Today was very good. I’m glad I got to be with my teammates and encourage them and help them. I feel like my personal performance I did very good. I wanted to run my 40 a little bit faster but straight-line speed and football speed, and everybody knows I got the speed to play in the NFL.”

After Daijahn’s last performance as a Rebel in the Peach Bowl this December, the safety went to work immediately, participating in both the Hula Bowl and the East-West Shrine Bowl. These events allowed Anthony to communicate with all 32 NFL football teams on several occasions while boosting his NFL Draft stock at the same time.
To take his training to the next level, Anthony also spent time in Florida alongside a number of SEC defenders who all hoped to get drafted as well. Daijahn elaborated on his incredible experience.
“My whole DB group that I trained with every day was all SEC. Just being around all SEC dudes and hearing about how their program was run, that was very good. I got brothers for life just like I got brothers at Ole Miss.”

Anthony: Pete Golding is why recruits should come to the Sip
As Daijahn talked more in depth about the Ole Miss program, he credited one coach specifically, leaving a message for the recruits out there who are considering playing in Oxford.
“Being with Pete Golding and the defensive coaching staff here, they really prepare you for the league. When I was doing my interviews, they could all see I was very high tech and advanced. The stuff that Coach Golding teaches here is the stuff they teach in the league. A lot of teams said, ‘Oh, you got that Alabama tree in you.’ I advise all the recruits to come play for Coach Golding.”
