Ole Miss Athletics Launches ‘Do It For Her’ Campaign in Conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day
OXFORD, Miss. – (Release) In celebration of 2024 National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Ole Miss Athletics has officially launched its women’s empowerment campaign of ‘Do It For Her’ to highlight the past, present and future success of girls and women in sport.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Our committee of has created several events and recognitions to celebrate the contributions our coaches, student-athletes and staff,” said Jennifer Saxon, Executive Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator. “The women who have been and are a part of our department continue to mount successes in sport and life. We hope we can continue to inspire a new generation in sport.” With the intent of inspiring future generations and reflecting on the growth of women in sport, Ole Miss Athletics is participating in multiple events throughout the academic year for the Oxford community, student-athletes and staff. In conjunction with the Oxford Parks Commission, Ole Miss Athletics hosted a meet and greet with all of its women’s teams and youth in the community to promote what the next generation can aspire to achieve. Ole Miss women’s basketball is celebrating with a Girls and Women in Sports Game on Thursday (Feb. 8) against Texas A&M, to recognize all women student-athletes and present awards to select individuals from the Ole Miss Athletics community. In April, Ole Miss will be partnering with ESPNW for a Campus Conversation Session to prepare female student-athletes for success following graduation and to engage, inspire and educate future leaders.(Featured Image courtesy of Ole Miss Athletics)
