The Ole Miss product, a 10th-round pick in 2022, led the team in home runs (24), RBI (75) and slugging percentage (.642) in his senior season, while leading them to their first World Series Championship in school history. For his Rebels’ career, the Captain posted a batting average of .294 with a .985 OPS. His 46 career home runs rank second all-time in program history. His 159 RBIs rank eighth.
On April 5, senior Tim Elko tore his ACL.
33 days later, he just pinch hit for @OleMissBSB vs. Texas A&M and went DEEP for the oppo taco home run. 🌮

After starting his ‘23 season playing A-ball and being named the Minor League Player of the Month in June, Elko was promoted to the White Sox High-A affiliate, the Winston-Salem Dash. Less than two months later, Elko was called up yet again, this time to the White Sox Double-A affiliate, the Birmingham Barons.
During his short time with the Barons, Elko hit for a .269 batting average with six home runs and 23 runs batted in. Tim’s power has put the White Sox organization on notice in the minor leagues and is a big reason that he will be in Arizona for spring training.
Even if he spends a few more months in Birmingham, this is a massive step for Tim’s future. For more updates, be sure to continue to check in with The Rebel Walk! Hotty Toddy!
