Five-star Caleb Blankenship, nation’s top long snapper, commits to Ole Miss after Junior Day visit

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss received a commitment Sunday from Caleb Blankenship, the nation’s top long snapper, following his visit to Oxford Saturday.

Blankenship, a 2024 five-star from Ashdown High School in Ashdown, Arkansas, recently earned the Rubio Award which is given to the top long snapper in the country.

At Ashdown, Blankenship served as the team’s long snapper, but that’s not all he did. The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder also played tight end and defensive end.

Blankenship thanked all those who have supported him on his recruiting journey.

AGTG! First of all, I’d like to thank God for all the blessings in my life. I’d like to thank my family for the ongoing support and love they have shown throughout my whole recruitment! To the coaches that coached me throughout my lifetime and the coaches that recruited me throughout the process, “THANK YOU!” for everything! With that being said I am taking my academic and athletic abilities to the University of Mississippi!

Blankenship’s primary recruiter has been Rebel special teams coordinator Jake Schoonover.

Ole Miss offered Blankenship back in November.

Blankenship chose Ole Miss over Syracuse, Central Missouri and others. Welcome to the Sip!
