Ole Miss gets commitment from South Alabama transfer safety Yam Banks
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss has picked up another strong transfer portal commitment, the second of the weekend, this time from Yam Banks out of South Alabama. The 6-foot-1, 208-pound safety is a former First-Team All-Sun Belt player who hails from Ridgeland, Miss. and played for Ridgeland High School.

Banks arrived in Oxford for his official visit on Friday and committed to the Rebels before leaving town today. He visited the Florida Gators last weekend.
Virginia Tech transfer tight end Dae’Quan Wright committed earlier Sunday afternoon.
This past season, Banks recorded 45 total tackles, one interception, one forced fumble, and three pass deflections. In 2022, he notched 50 tackles and six interceptions, and recorded 49 tackles in 2021.
On the outside, it appears that the incoming senior, who will enroll this month, will be used as the replacement for Tamarion McDonald, who flipped his commitment from Ole Miss to Louisville earlier this week.
The Mississippi native will be the fifth player added to in the secondary and will have a legit opportunity to play for a starting job over spring and summer camp. Ole Miss owns the No. 1 transfer portal class in the country.
