A visit with Ole Miss 2024 OL signee Kavion Broussard: ‘The environment there was amazing’

OXFORD, Miss. — We recently visited with class of 2024 offensive lineman Kavion Broussard who signed with Ole Miss last month. Broussard, a three-star tackle from Zachary, Louisiana, had been committed to the University of Miami for just over four months, but throughout his recruitment, he knew he wanted to end up in an SEC program.

I always wanted to play in the SEC, and when they (Ole Miss) started recruiting me harder and harder, I was like, ‘I’m going to take it into consideration to go there.’ When they said we could set up a visit, I was like, ‘Yeah, we could do that.’”

The 6-foot-6, 275-pound glass eater took a visit to Ole Miss in week 10 of the 2023 season when Texas A&M was in town. In an electric game, the Rebs won 38-35 and produced 518 yards of total offense. Kavion was impressed with both the potent offense and the incredible fanbase of Ole Miss.

It finished good. They had a few mistakes in there, but they came back, and I like to see that. The environment there was amazing, it was probably the loudest stadium I’ve ever been in.

On top of just watching the game, Broussard was also able to experience the Grove for the first time, which left a strong impression on him.

There are some amazing people out there that like to support. When I was walking in, I didn’t even know half the people that were there, but they knew my name.

During his recruitment, Kavion also received offers from Florida State, Texas Tech, Missouri, Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Louisiana, Mississippi State, TCU, and Tulane, among others.

To cap off the interview, when I asked the all-state stud to give me a score prediction for the Peach Bowl, he almost hit the nail on the head. He took Ole Miss in dominant fashion: “I’ll say Ole Miss 35, Penn State 21.”

And as we all know, it finished 38-25 in favor of the Rebels, giving Ole Miss a record-setting 11-2 season.
