Perkins – a native of Raleigh, Mississippi – has played in all 12 games for the Rebels in 2023, with two starts at Alabama and at Auburn. He ranks 10th on the team with 36 total tackles, as well as third on the roster with 5.5 tackles for loss and tied for third in sacks with 3.5. Included in that was a breakout performance at Alabama, where he sacked Jalen Milroe twice for a loss of 21 yards and ended the day with 2.5 tackles for loss for 22 total yards.
This season, Perkins was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week following a five-tackle performance at Auburn on Oct. 21. Earlier this week he was also named a Freshman All-American by the College Football Network, in addition to a spot on the On3 Midseason Freshman All-America team and the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year preseason watch list.
