Wells sat out most of the 2023 season due to an injury to his left foot he suffered while scoring a touchdown in the Gamecocks’ SEC opener against Georgia back in September.
The 6-foot-1, 205 pounder is no stranger to success in the SEC. He earned All-SEC honors, along with All America consideration, during his freshman campaign as one of Spencer Rattler’s go-to guys, tallying 68 receptions for 928 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Antwane Wells has been incredible tonight for South Carolina. Fantastic body control + ball skills on display to win this 50/50 ball down the sideline from Spencer Rattler.
The James Madison transfer has 12 touches for 180 yards and a score tonight. A rising #NFLDraft prospect. pic.twitter.com/jIbTBk2wnC

Prior to his arrival in Columbia, Wells spent two seasons at James Madison setting multiple records there in the process. He caught 21 touchdowns and finished 9th in career receiving yards (1,853) and ninth in career receptions (116). He holds the JMU single-season record for receiving yards (1,250), receiving touchdown (15) and receptions (83). He has also notched 12 100-yard receiving career games, including four at South Carolina.
This is not only a great addition for the Rebels’ receiving corps, but also another seasoned vet who can help anchor other receivers. Juice Wells is more than advertised and could be another instant impact for the Ole Miss offense.
Welcome home, Juice!
