Quick Hits: Ole Miss Defeats Temple, 77-76, as Allen Flanigan hits game-winning free throws

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – Ole Miss defeated Temple, 77-76, on the road on Wednesday.

The Rebels (5-0, 0-0) were led in scoring by senior Allen Flanigan with 26 points. Flanigan had 13 points in the first half. Ole Miss had three other players score in double figures: Matthew Murrell (12), Jaylen Murray (11) and TJ Caldwell (14).

Ole Miss and Temple were tied at 3-3 at the 18:29 mark of the first half before Ole Miss went on a run. The Rebels’ largest lead against the Owls of 13 points came at the 6:55 mark with the score 29-16.

Temple was led in scoring by Hysier Miller with 12 points in the first half. Miller finished with 21 points.

In the first half, Ole Miss shot 53.6 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc. The Rebels’ defense held the Owls to 44.9 percent from the floor and 34.6 from beyond the arc.

Ole Miss took a 38-33 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, Ole Miss kept its lead over the Owls during the game, but at the 6:10 mark in the second half, Temple cut Ole Miss’ advantage down to two points at 67-65.

Temple then took the lead, 76-75, with 1:39 remaining. In the final seconds, Flanigan was fouled and sent to the line and knocked down both free throws to win the game.
