Quick Hits: Ole Miss Defeats N.C. State, 72-52
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss defeated North Carolina State, 72-52, in the SEC/ACC Challenge on Tuesday night in the Pavilion.
Ole Miss was led in the game by Jaemyn Brakefield with 25 points. A total of four Rebels got into double figures as Allen Flanigan scored 15 points, while Jaylen Murray and Matthew Murrell each added 12 points. Murrell hit his 1,000th career point against N.C. State.
N.C. State was led in the game by Ben Middlebrooks who finished with 13 points.
Ole Miss jumped out to an early big lead over the Wolf Pack 17-5 at the under 12-minute timeout. N.C. State cut the Rebels’ lead down to a five-point margin at 20-15.
In the first half, Ole Miss held the Wolf Pack to 22.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc, and the Rebels took a 35-27 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
In the second half, Ole Miss never let N.C. State climb back into it.
N.C. State did out-rebound the Rebels in the game, 43-39.
