Quick Hits: Ole Miss 70, Sam Houston 67

OXFORD, Miss – Ole Miss defeated Sam Houston State, 70-67, on Friday night in the throwback game in Tad Pad. Here are the ‘quick hits’ from the game, with a game story to follow soon.

Ole Miss (4-0) jumped out to an early six-point lead, 9-3, over Sam Houston in the opening minutes of the game, as Matthew Murrell got the Rebels going.

Sam Houston State cut it to a two-point difference, 9-7, before the under 16 minute timeout.

Ole Miss was led in the first half by Allen Flanigan with nine points. He finished the game with 23 points.

In the first half, Ole Miss shot 46 percent from the floor as Sam Houston State shot 50 percent from behind the arc.

Sam Houston State was led in scoring by Davon Barnes with 22.

At the half, Ole Miss trailed Sam Houston State 33-31.

In the second half, each team traded baskets that kept the game tied or a one-possession lead. Sam Houston State got into foul trouble about midway through the second half.
