Quick Hits: No. 19 Ole Miss Falls to No. 22 Louisville, 64-58

OXFORD, Miss. – No. 19 Ole Miss dropped a  64-58 heartbreaker to No. 22 Louisville in the SEC/ACC Challenge on Wednesday night.

Ole Miss (6-2) had to climb out of a hole early in the contest against Louisville after falling behind, 12-6. The Rebels rebounded to take a 14-13 advantage in the final seconds of the first quarter before the Cardinals tied it at the line.

The Rebels were led on the court by Snudda Collins with 22 points.

Both teams played strong defense in this matchup.  In the second quarter, each team continued to trade baskets.

Ole Miss took the lead at 30-26 behind the play and scoring of Collins who finished the half with 11 points. The Rebels took a 30-28 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Louisville was led on the court by KiKi Jefferson with 15 points.

Ole Miss held the Cardinals to 9-of-25 from the floor and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc in the half.

In the third period, Louisville climbed back into the lead and pushed it out to a six-point advantage at 50-44 going into the fourth.

The Cardinals scored 22 points in the third as Ole Miss scored 14.

In the fourth, Ole Miss got down by eight, 60-52, before ultimately falling 64-58. Each team scored 14 points in the period.

On the night, the Rebels were 1-for-11 from three-point range for a 9.1 shooting percentage and were 13-of-28 from the free throw line, a 46.4 shooting percentage. Ole Miss committed 21 turnovers in the game.
