Ole Miss DL commit Jeffery Rush selected to All-American Bowl team, receives jersey in virtual celebration
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss defensive lineman commit Jeffery Rush, a 2024 recruit from Pascagoula, Miss., has been at the forefront of this year’s recruiting campaign after pledging to remain home and play for the Rebels back in March. He’s now been recognized as a member of the 2024 All-American Bowl team in a virtual jersey presentation held Wednesday night.
Rush is one of 100 athletes who have been selected to play in the twenty-fourth edition of the All-American Bowl to be held January 6,2024 in San Antonio at the Alamodome and will be presented live on NBC.

The four-star defensive tackle stands as the No.131 overall athlete in the class of 2024 and sits as the No. 23 defensive tackle and No. 5 overall player in the Magnolia state. His talent not only has been easily recognized here in his home state, but across the country as he quickly made a name for himself and turned heads this past spring and summer at various camps.
Although he injured his shoulder this fall and underwent surgery, Rush has been on the sidelines supporting his Pascagoula team (8-3) who is looking to remain in the hunt for the 6A Mississippi State title. Pascagoula is set to face Picayune (9-2) this Friday.
Rush was officially honored with his All-American Bowl jersey Wednesday evening the virtual presentation as part of an 8-week “Road to the Dome” digital series.

We had a chance to catch up with Rush to get his thoughts about being named an All-American and some thoughts for other prospects.
“It truly means a lot! I want to thank my family for keeping me motivated and supporting me throughout my high school career. During this journey, I went through a lot mentally and physically, pouring my all into this sport and for me to be named an All American is a blessing. I gave God the pen and he continues to write my story.”

He also talked about why he has chosen to attend Ole Miss and offered advice for recruits considering Ole Miss.

Rush was chosen by the All-American Bowl Selection Committee. Each of the selected athletes will also be vying for other postseason accolades, such as All American Bowl Player of the Year, Anthony Munoz Lineman of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year,vAll American Bowl Man of the Year and The All American MVP Award.
Rush is the only commit from Ole Miss to be selected to the annual showdown at the Alamodome in San Antonio that will be the culmination of the high school career for the top athletes in the 2024 class.
Rush is set to report to Ole Miss as an early enrollee in January, but will continue to rehab and build back his strength so he can be ready when fall camp comes around. Hotty Toddy!
