The Oxford native finished the regular season this year with 40 tackles, 17 of which were solo, and 3.5 sacks.
In the midst of recruiting one of the best 2024 defensive line classes in the country, bringing back an experienced leader on this team is nothing short of incredible for next year’s Rebels.

In addition to his leadership on the field, Pegues is also a leader off the field. On Wednesday, he was selected to the Southeastern Conference Football Community Service Team.
Pegues has been a nominee for both the Wuerffel Trophy and the AFCA Good Works Team this season, and he represents the football team on the Ole Miss Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Pegues was a starter from the moment he arrived in Oxford after transferring from Auburn in early 2022. This season, he is also second on the team in tackles for loss with 8 for 38 yards.
Following the announcement, defensive line coach Randall Joyner tweeted “Let’s run it back!!!! Excited to have you back my guy.”
