OXFORD, Miss. — Chris Beard and his staff picked up their first commitment of the 2025 class from four-star shooting guard Patton Pinkins, son of Al Pinkins, assistant coach at Ole Miss.

According to the On3 Industry Rank, the 6-foot-5 sharpshooter is the 66th-best player in the country and the eighth-best player in the state of Texas. While holding offers from Seton Hall, LSU, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and more, the decision to come to Oxford was easy for Pinkins.
In an interview with On3, Patton said, “I chose Ole Miss because Coach Chris Beard has done a great job of recruiting me. His vision for me matches up with the goals I want to accomplish. Being able to also play for my dad (Al Pinkins) is a bonus.”
The commitment of Pinkins comes as Ole Miss will soon tip off its season this coming Monday night at 7 p.m. in the SJB Pavilion against Alabama State.
After beating Tusculum 85-44 in an exhibition game earlier this week, Rebel fans should be excited to see how Chris Beard and the team start off the season.
As for Pinkins’ recruitment, he is thrilled to be able to wear red and blue and is going to be a big part of potentially a stacked 2025 recruiting class. In his closing thoughts, Patton left a message for Rebel fans: “I can’t wait to get to Oxford and contribute to the team and win championships! Hotty Toddy!”
