Michael Trigg, Reginald Hughes no longer with Ole Miss program
OXFORD, Miss. — Two players are no longer with the Ole Miss football team. We reported this morning that tight end Michael Trigg was not at practice, and we have confirmed with an athletics spokesperson he is no longer with the program.
Trigg had zero snaps in Saturday’s loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and we learned he had missed Monday’s practice in addition to today’s.
We have also learned and confirmed that linebacker Reginald Hughes is also no longer on the team. Both he and Trigg have been removed from the Rebels’ online roster.
UPDATE: On Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference, Lane Kiffin was asked about Michael Trigg and replied as follows:

Trigg, a transfer from USC, came to Ole Miss via the portal along with his Trojans’ teammate Jaxson Dart in the spring of 2022. He has participated in 10 games in a Rebel uniform — seven coming in 2022 — and has three catches for 65 yards and one touchdown thus far in 2023.
In 2022, he caught 17 passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns. Trigg was named to the 2023 Mackey Award Watch List before the season began, as well as earned Preseason All-SEC third-team honors.
Hughes appeared in all four games this season. He is credited with three tackles, a quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery thus far in 2023.

In 2022, the Northeast Mississippi Community College product, appeared in 12 of 13 games where he notched six tackles. In the JUCO ranks, Hughes was listed as the No. 1-ranked linebacker and the No. 4 JUCO player, overall.
