Ole Miss’ KD Hill: ‘Don’t question God on why. Thank Him for sparing my life’

Ole Miss’ KD Hill: ‘Don’t question God on why. Thank Him for sparing my life’

Following the accident Friday, July 21, that injured former Ole Miss defensive lineman KD Hill, medical personnel included this in the notes about their patient: “He’s a warrior.”

The 2022 Chucky Mullins Courage Award winner is every bit a warrior and more.

Just barely a week after the car accident that caused the amputation of his lower leg, KD took to Facebook with a message asking his supporters to keep praying for his mom, Arneta Williams, and to not question God on what has happened to KD.

Simply put, KD continues to exhibit the same “heart of a lion” for which he has always been known.

Once I fully recover you will hear my testimony. My mom is very strong. Keep praying for her. She got a call saying, ‘your son has been in a truck over 3-and-a-half hours.’ She stayed strong because she knows her son. GOD, I LOVE YOU.

And in words that are the type we’ve come to expect from our No. 38-wearing KD, he also exclaimed:

IF YOU EVER SEE ME FIGHTING A BEAR, HELP THE BEAR.

Proclaiming his faith

KD also posted a note in the same post profoundly proclaiming his faith in his Lord and Savior and offering a message to those who care for him:

Not once did I question. Haven’t even shed a tear…I’m attacking every day. Done had five surgeries and I still know my God loves me. Got one last surgery. I can’t respond to everyone but love you all and don’t question God on why. Instead, tell him thank you for sparing my life and know that the doctors wrote on my note, “he’s a warrior.” Sat in a truck while my leg was stuck at least five hours by the engine. I AM DIFFERENT. Didn’t even cry.

In the same post, he included a picture from the accident scene, where he was trapped for hours, as well as a picture of his precious little boy.

Donate to KD

Ole Miss Football posted a link Saturday for folks to donate to KD. (If you’ve already donated via his GoFundMe or Cash App or Zelle, he will get those funds as well.) If you are interested and you’ve not yet had a chance to donate, please click here or go to the link below:

We will keep you posted on KD’s recovery. Rest assured that with his faith, his family and his supporters, this lion isn’t backing down.
