Ole Miss’ TJ McCants enters the transfer portal
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss outfielder TJ McCants is entering the NCAA transfer portal as announced via his Instagram on Wednesday.
“I just want to start off by thanking the Ole Miss coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to play this great game at the collegiate level in such a competitive league. I’d also like to thank my teammates for being my brothers and creating memories with me on and off the field that will last a lifetime. Lastly, thanks to the ole miss community for the support and love you guys have showed me my 3 years here. With that being said I will be entering the portal.”

Although he played infield in high school at Pensacola Catholic High School in Cantonment, Florida, McCants moved to the outfield when he arrived in Oxford and quickly made his mark.
In his first season with the Rebels in 2021, McCants earned Freshman All-American honors for his performance. He started 56 out of the Rebels’ 60 games, hit .300, notched 65 hits, five home runs, while batting in 35 runs.
In 2022, en route to Ole Miss’ national championship, McCants hit .236 with 42 hits, 31 RBI and 24 runs. Memorably to all Rebel fans, McCants hit a solo home run in the Super Regional title-clinching game against Southern Mississippi.
