Ole Miss offered Broomfield in January, after which he received offers from State in February, LSU in March and Arkansas in April as well as approximately 20 others. However, new defensive coordinator Pete Golding’s defensive plans helped draw Broomfield to Oxford.
The 6-2, 160-pound corner led Clarksdale to a 10-2 record as a junior last season, while notching 60 tackles, 11 pass-breakups and three interceptions. He also tallied one pick-six. He is a physical cornerback who comes up and makes tackles. He reacts to the ball with good ball skills, and his long arms give him the ability to deflect and break up passes.

Broomfield was obviously a top target of head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels. In addition to Coach Golding, recruiting assistant Kelvin Bolden and cornerbacks coach Keynodo remained in close contact with the speedy defender who runs a 4.5 40-yard dash.
In addition to being a star on the field, Broomfield is just as talented in the classroom. He’s a member of National Honor Society and boasts a 3.7 grade point average.
