Just A Short Drive Down I-55: Rebels Land Key Target as Memphis TE Caden Prieskorn Announces Transfer to Ole Miss
OXFORD, Miss. – John David Baker, the resident “tight end whisperer” in Oxford, added another big piece to the Ole Miss roster on Monday. Memphis transfer tight end Caden Prieskorn entered the portal on December 29th, 2022, and needed less than two full weeks to decide Oxford was going to be his new home.
The Rebel Walk visited with Caden about his choice to become a Rebel.
“I chose Ole Miss because of the coaching staff, the fit with the tight end position, and the opportunity to play in the SEC against the best.“

Prieskorn played in all 13 games for the Tigers in 2022, tallying 48 catches for 602 yards and seven touchdowns.
The 6’6, 215 pound tight end had initially planned to stay in Memphis, but after the Tigers win over Utah State in the ServPro First Responder Bowl, he announced he’d be looking to play elsewhere. Prieskorn was an All-AAC tight end and also a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, given to the nation’s most outstanding tight end.
Prieskorn is big but he is very mobile, finding ways to get open and making defenders miss. That lethal combination will be massive for Lane Kiffin’s offense.
Lot of size with a lot of mobility. Lethal combo.

Very shifty, finds ways to get open.

The Rebels hope to see a full season of action in 2023 from Michael Trigg, a 6’3,” 240-pound tight end who transferred from USC along with quarterback Jaxson Dart. Trigg missed a large part of the 2022 season with an injury followed by a suspension, but returned for the Rebels bowl game loss to Texas Tech.
If both Prieskorn and Trigg stay healthy, expect a healthy dose of tight end next season.
“I’m excited to get to Oxford and start getting to work with my team.“

The transfer portal is where Kiffin’s bread and butter has been thus far, and all indications are that he isn’t finished yet. Stay tuned to The Rebel Walk as we continue to track the “portal king” and the offseason.
