Battle announced on Twitter that he was transferring to Utah for his last season of eligibility. In his tweet, he said: “To a new year.. With new beginnings #GoUtes.”
Battle is a former four-star wide receiver from Houston (Cy Creek High School). The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Battle has one year of eligibility left. He spent the first two years in Oxford as a wide receiver before moving over to defense for his last three years as a defensive back.

Those who cover the Utes believe Battle will bring experience and length that will help make up for the loss of All-American Clark Phillips III who declared early for the NFL draft. Battle finished the 2022 season with 38 tackles, four pass breakups, one forced fumble and an interception.
Battle, who has been a fan favorite of Rebels, coined the phrase: “Send them home sad” after an Ole Miss win.
