Arch Manning commits to the Texas Longhorns

Quarterback Arch Manning, grandson of NFL legend Archie, son of Cooper, and nephew of Eli and Peyton, has committed to the University of Texas, as announced Thursday via his Twitter.

Arch, the No. 1 prospect in the 2023 class, took official visits to Alabama, Georgia and Texas earlier this month. He spent last weekend in Austin, Texas with the Longhorns.

Manning is the unanimous No. 1 overall player in the 2023 class, but he has kept his recruitment close to the vest — starting off with five schools in the mix: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas.

He visited all five of those schools during the 2021 season, and culled the list down to three — Alabama, Georgia and Texas — by the time he set official visits. In May, the Tide accepted a commitment from quarterback Eli Holstein.

Best of luck to Arch!
