Hunter Elliott Tabbed SEC Co-Freshman of the Week

Lefty Hurler Tossed Career-High Seven Innings, Struck Out Nine

OXFORD, Miss. –  (Release) Ole Miss freshman pitcher Hunter Elliott has been named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week for Week 12, it was announced Monday by the conference office. Elliott picked up the first SEC win of his young career, shutting down the Missouri offense on Saturday as Ole Miss earned its first league sweep of the season. The left-hander allowed a single run over the course of his career-high seven innings. The Tupelo, Mississippi, native struck out nine Tiger hitters, matching his career-high set in his first career start against ULM. Elliott is the first Rebel to receive a weekly award from the SEC office this season and has posted back-to-back quality starts, both in league play, after delivering six innings with three runs allowed at No. 4 Arkansas.
