Ole Miss’ Sam Williams Drafted by the Dallas Cowboys
Ole Miss defensive lineman Sam Williams had an outstanding season this year for Ole Miss and his efforts were rewarded as he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 56th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

After he was drafted, Sam took to Twitter, saying:

Sam’s Super Season
Sam finished 2021 with a school record 12.5 sacks on the season, which ranks fourth in the FBS, and his 56 total tackles are the most by a Rebel defensive lineman since 2018.
He also led Ole Miss in both tackles for loss (16.0) and forced fumbles (4).

Williams ranks third in the Ole Miss career record book (modern day) with 22.5 total career sacks, behind only Marquise Haynes and Greg Hardy.
In the Rebels’ Sugar Bowl game against Baylor, Williams notched 1.0 TFL that moved him to fifth all-time at Ole Miss with 33.5 career tackles for loss.
Williams anchored an Ole Miss defense that in 2021 averaged giving up just 24.69 points, down from 38 points per game in 2020. The Rebels held five opponents to fewer than 20 points this season.
For his outstanding performance this season, Williams was named to the Associated Press, Walter Camp, Sporting News, and Phil Steele All-American teams.
