OXFORD, Miss. — No. 2 Ole Miss baseball fell Saturday to UCF, 1-0, in twelve innings in Orlando. The Rebels (9-1) take on the Knights in the rubber game at 11:00 a.m. (CT)

INNING 9

Ole Miss leads UCF 6-1 to start the 9th. Due up for the Rebels will be McCants-Harris-Tolley. Hunsicker back to the mound for UCF.

Top of the 9th

TJ McCants: TJ strikes out to start the 9th.

*New pitcher for UCF as Castellan takes the mound for Hunsicker. 

Calvin Harris: He triples to right center! Rebels have RISP and one out. 

Banks Tolley: Banks with an RBI single that he shoots through a drawn-in infield! Harris scores and Ole Miss leads 7-1!

Hayden Dunhurst: The Rebel catcher draws a walk. Tolley advances to second.

Reagan Burford: Nine-hole hitter Burford up to bat. He’s reached base all four times today. Rebels have runners on first and second with one out. He doubles to right and drives in a run! Tolley scores and Dunhurst goes to third. Ole Miss leads 8-1! 

Peyton Chatagnier: Back to the top of the order with the Ole Miss second baseman up to bat.*New pitcher for UCF as Cameron Crain takes the mound for Castellan. He notches the SAC fly and Dunhurst scores. Rebels lead 9-1. 

Justin Bench: He flies out to left field to end the top of the 9th.

Bottom of 9th

Ole Miss leads 9-1. Due up for UCF will be: 8-9-1. Taylor-Boedicker-Pena. Dylan DeLucia back to the mound. 

Taylor: He grounds out to Chatagnier to start the frame. ONE OUT.

Boedicker: The UCF left fielder steps up with one out, nobody on, trailing the Rebels 9-1. DeLucia gets him to go down looking! TWO OUTS! 

Pena: He flies out to left! Ballgame!

INNING 8

Ole Miss leads UCF 6-1 as we start the 8th. Due up for the Rebels: 9-1-2. Burford-Chatagnier-Bench. New pitcher for UCF as Zack Hunsicker takes the mound for Gomez. 

Top of 8th

Reagan Burford: He leads off with a single down the right field line!

Peyton Chatagnier: He grounds out to the pitcher. Burford advances to second.

Justin Bench: Justin strikes out swinging. Ole Miss has two outs. 

Jacob Gonzalez: He’s intentionally walked. Rebels have runners on first and second with two outs.

Tim Elko: The Captain is up to bat. He’s got runners on first and second and two outs. He grounds out to short and to the bottom of the 8th we go. Rebels lead 6-1. 

Bottom of 8th

Ole Miss leads 6-1. Due up for UCF in the home portion of the 8th will be 5-6-7.  That’s Wash-Josten-Ruiz. Dylan DeLucia goes back to the mound for Ole Miss. 

Wash: DeLucia gets the UCF catcher to go down looking! ONE OUT

Josten: He flies out to Tolley in left field. TWO OUTS. 

Ruiz: DeLucia gets him to go down swinging and UCF is retired in order!!

INNING 7

Ole Miss leads UCF 6-1. Due up for Ole Miss in the top of the 7th will be: 6-7-8. That’s Harris-Alderman-Dunhurst. Gomez back to the mound for UCF. 

Top of 7th

Calvin Harris: (Harris to DH). He grounds out to second as we start the seventh.

Kemp Alderman: Kemp singles to third base! Rebs with a runner on, one out. (Tolley on to pinch run for Kemp.)

Hayden Dunhurst: Hayden grounds into an inning-ending DP (ss to first).

Bottom of 7th

Ole Miss leads 6-1. Due up for UCF will be: 2-3-4, Freeland-Romano-McCabe. Dylan DeLucia to the mound again for the Rebels. He’s thrown 16 pitches thus far in 1.0 IP as we get ready for the home portion of the 7th. 

Freeland: He is out at first (first to pitcher). ONE OUT.

Romano: He flies out to center. TWO OUTS.

McCabe: He goes down swinging!

INNING 6

Ole Miss leads UCF 6-1 as we head to the top of the 6th. Due up for the Rebels will be: Gonzalez-Elko-McCants (2-3-4). New pitcher for UCF as Gomez takes the mound for Kramer. 

Top of 6th

Jacob Gonzalez: The Rebs’ shortstop grounds out to first.

Tim Elko: The captain grounds out to second. Two outs, nobody on.

TJ McCants: He strikes out and the Rebels are retired in order.

Bottom of 6th

Rebels lead UCF, 6-1, as we head to B6. Due up for the Knights will be: 6-7-8. Josten-Russo-Orlando. Jackson Kimbrell on the mound for Ole Miss. 

Josten: He is HBP. UCF has leadoff man on base.

*New pitcher for Ole Miss. Dylan DeLucia to relieve Kimbrell. 

Ruiz to pinch hit for Russo: He singles to left field. Josten to second. Runners on first and second, no outs.

Orlando: The UCF second baseman is hitting .364 this season. He is hitting .400 with runners on and .500 with RISP. BUT yet….he goes down swinging! ONE OUT!

Boedicker: Knights’ left fielder up to bat. He reaches on a FC. Ruiz out at second. Josten to third. UCF has runners on the corners, TWO OUTS. 

Pena: Back to the top of the order with Pena. He’s got runners on the corners and two outs. Rebels lead 6-1. DeLucia gets him looking!

INNING 5

Ole Miss takes a 4-1 lead into the top of the 5th. Due up for Ole Miss will be: 5-6-7. McCants-Van Cleve-Alderman. Kramer is back to the mound for UCF. 

Top of 5th

McCants: TJ strikes out as we start the fifth.

Harris: Calvin on to pinch hit for Van Cleve. Harris singles up the middle! Rebels with runner on first, ONE OUT.

Alderman: He singles to the right side of the infield! Harris advances to second. Two on, one out. Rebels lead 4-1.

Hayden Dunhurst: The Rebels’ catcher strikes out. Ole Miss has runners on first and second with two outs.

Reagan Burford: He’s hit by pitch.

Chatagnier: The OM second baseman is up to bat with bases loaded, two outs. HE SINGLES DOWN THE RIGHT FIELD LINE FOR TWO RBI! Alderman and Harris score and Ole Miss leads 6-1!

Justin Bench: The Ole Miss CF is up to bat with runners on first and second, two outs. He strikes out and to the B5 we go. But not before Ole Miss scores two runs to take a 6-1 lead. 

Bottom of 5th 

Due up for UCF: 1-2-3. Pena-Freeland-Romano. Kimbrell back to the mound for Ole Miss. He’s thrown 14 pitches in 1.2 innings work thus far. Rebels lead 6-1.

Pena: He grounds out to Kimbrell on the bunt down the third base line. Nice play by Kimbrell! ONE OUT.

Freeland: He draws a walk. UCF has runner on first, one out.

Romano: He singles to left. UCF has runners on first and second, one out.

McCabe: The Knights’ DH is up next. He pops up to Burford at third. Runners on first and second. TWO OUTS. 

Wash: The UCF catcher is up next. He grounds out to shortstop and to the sixth we go!

INNING 4

Ole Miss leads UCF 2-1 as we start the 4th. Due up for the Rebels will be: 8-9-1. Dunhurst-Burford-Chatagnier. Patteson back to the mound for UCF. He’s thrown 72 pitches as he gets ready to start the 4th. 

Top of 4th

Dunhurst: The Ole Miss catcher singles to center! Leadoff man is on base.

Burford: Rebel third baseman is up next. He singles to second. Both he and Dunhurst are safe! Two on, no outs.

Chatagnier: He grounds out to the pitcher on the SAC bunt. Burford goes to second, Dunhurst to third! Rebels have two RISP with one out.

Justin Bench: He gets the SAC fly to right. RBI as Dunhurst scores and Burford gets to third! Ole Miss takes a 3-1 lead!

Jacob Gonzalez: The Rebel SS with the standup RBI double to right center as Burford scores! Rebels lead 4-1! Ole Miss has runner on second with two outs. 

*New pitcher for UCF as Kyle Kramer takes the mound for Patteson. 

Tim Elko: The Rebel captain will step up to bat with a 4-1 lead and runner on second with two outs. He strikes out and to the B4 we go.

Bottom of 4th

Ole Miss leads 4-1 after scoring two in the top of the 4th. Due up for UCF: 7-8-9. Russo-Orlando-Boedicker. Jackson Kimbrell back to the mound for Ole Miss. He threw four pitches in 2/3 inning in the third. 

Russo: Leadoff ground out to Elko at first. ONE OUT. 

Orlando: The UCF second baseman is up next. He’s hitting .400 on the season, but he lines out to center. TWO OUTS.

INNING 3

Ole Miss takes a 2-1 lead into the third. Due up for the Rebels: 4-5-6. Elko-McCants-Van Cleve. Patteson back to the mound. He’s thrown 54 pitches as we start the frame. 

Top of 3rd

Elko: The Captain strikes out swinging to start the third. ONE OUT.

McCants: TJ pops up to center. TWO OUTS.

Van Cleve: DH Van Cleve is up to bat. He’s hitting .417 this season. He singles up the middle! One out, two outs for the Rebels.

Alderman: The Rebels’ left fielder up to bat next. He fouls out to first, and to the bottom of the third we go.

Bottom of 3rd

Ole Miss leads 2-1 going into the B3. Due up for UCF: 2-3-4. Freeland-Romano-McCabe. Ole Miss pticher Drew McDaniel has thrown 40 pitches today as we start the bottom 3rd. 

Freeland: UCF has leadoff man on board as Freeland singles to right field.

Romano: The Knights’ third baseman is up to bat. He’s hitting .351 on the season. He grounds to the Rebels’ third baseman but he can’t quite snag it. Burford charged with the error on the tricky bounce. UCF has runners on first and second with no outs. Rebels lead 2-1. 

McCabe: UCF DH up next. He lines out to left. ONE OUT.

Wash: The Knights’ catcher is hitting .308 thus far this season. He’s got runners on first and second with one out. He draws a walk. UCF has bases loaded with one out.

*New pitcher for Ole Miss as Jackson Kimbrell takes the mound for Drew McDaniel. Will be a lefty-lefty matchup with Kimbrell and Josten. 

Josten: The UCF right fielder is hitting .500 this year with RISP, .800 with bases loaded. He steps up to bat with bases loaded and one out. HE GROUNDS INTO A DOUBLE-PLAY!! Second to short to first, and that’s it for UCF in the third. They strand bases loaded!

INNING 2

Game is scoreless. Due up for the Rebels in the second: Alderman, Dunhurst, Burford. 

Top of 2nd

Alderman: Kemp, playing left field for the Rebels today with Graham out with injury, Is hitting .267 this season. He doubles to the wall! 

Dunhurst: The Rebel catcher DOUBLES DOWN THE RIGHT FIELD LINE! ALDERMAN SCORES! Back to back doubles and the Rebels lead 1-0! No outs.

Burford: Dunhurst advances to third on a wild pitch to Burford. Burford draws a 4-1 walk. Rebels have runners on the corners, no outs.

*UCF coach and catcher out to visit with Patteson on the mound. 

Chatagnier: Top of the order up for the Rebels. Ole Miss second baseman comes up to bat with runners on the corners and no outs. He grounds out to the pitcher but gets the RBI as Dunhurst scores! Burford to second. Ole Miss leads 2-0. 

Justin Bench: He’s HBP and Ole Miss has runners on first and second with one out.

Jacob Gonzalez: UCF pitcher Patteson has thrown 50 pitches already. The Ole Miss shortstop steps up to the plate with runners on first and second and one out. Ole Miss leads 2-0. Bench is thrown out at first (pitcher to short to third to first). Rebels now have runner on second, TWO OUTS. Gonzalez strikes out swinging, and to the bottom of the second we go. 

Bottom of 2nd

Back to back doubles and a ground out give Ole Miss a 2-0 lead as we head into B2. McDaniel back to the mound for the Rebels. He’s thrown 22 total pitches as he begins his second inning. Due up for UCF: 6-7-8.

Josten: He’s HBP and UCF has leadoff runner on. NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND! After review, Josten is called OUT as they said he led with his elbow.

Russo: He reaches on an error by the Rebels in left. Then advances to second. UCF has runner on second, one out.

Orlando: He singles down the left field line. Russo goes to third. Runners on the corners for UCF with one out. Nine-hole hitter up to bat.

Boedicker: The UCF left fielder comes up with runners on the corners, one out. McDaniel gets him to go down swinging! TWO OUTS. 

Pena: Orlando steals second, Russo scores on a passed ball, unearned. Ole Miss leads 2-1. Pena grounds out to Burford at third and that’s it for two complete.

INNING 1

Drew McDaniel will be the starter for Ole Miss today on the mound. Hunter Patteson will take the mound for UCF. Due up first for the Rebels will be: Peyton Chatagnier, Justin Bench, and Jacob Gonzalez. Kevin Graham is out today due to injury. Kemp Alderman will play in left field. 

Top of the 1st

Peyton Chatagnier: The Ole Miss second baseman strikes out swinging as we start game three.

Justin Bench: Rebels have a base runner as bench draws a walk! That’s the first walk Patteson has given this season. 

Jacob Gonzalez: Jacob singles to first base and Bench goes to second. Rebels with runners on first and second, one out. 

Tim Elko: The Rebels’ captain is up to bat now. He singles and the Rebels have bases loaded, one out!

TJ McCants: Called third strike — on a pitch NOT in the strike zone. Rebels have bases loaded, two outs.

Ben Van Cleve: Ben pops up to shortstop and that’s it for the top of the first.

Bottom of the 1st

Rebels stranded bases loaded in the top of the frame. Now, Drew McDaniel takes the mound for Ole Miss. Due up for UCF will be: Pena, Freeland, Romano. 

Pena: The UCF center fielder steps up to bat. He is hitting .436 this season. He grounds out to Burford at third. ONE OUT!

Freeland: He doubles down the right field line. RISP for UCF with one out.

Romano: UCF third baseman up next. He’s got Freeland on second, one out. He draws a four-pitch walk. Knights have runners on first and second, one out.
