In the Sugar Bowl, Ealy tallied 65 yards on the ground on 12 carries for a 5.4 yard per carry average. That brings his season total to 768 yards rushing.
In 2021, the former five-star recruit and Mississippi native notched five touchdowns on the ground and added 32 catches for 218 yards and two touchdowns. Throughout his time at Ole Miss, the dual-sport star, who also played for the Rebels’ baseball team, accounted for 26 touchdowns via rushing, receiving and special teams.
Following the game, Ealy talked about the historic season he and the Rebels enjoyed but also what might have been.
“It would’ve been great to win this one but if you look back at the season, we still had a great season,” he said.
“One of the best seasons in school history. So I mean, it’s kind of mixed emotions about it. I’m happy, but I would have loved to get this one.”
