Caleb Warren, Caden Costa Earn Weekly SEC Honors
OXFORD, Miss. — Two Ole Miss players have earned Southeastern Conference weekly honors following the Rebels’ 29-19 win over then-No. 11 Texas A&M.
Offensive lineman Caleb Warren was named Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week while kicker Caden Costa was selected SEC Freshman of the Week.
Caleb Warren
Warren is a stalwart on a Rebels’ offensive line that helped amass 504 yards of total offense, including 257 on the ground against A&M. The Louisville, Miss. native graded out at an 89 percent with two knockdowns and no missed assignments. He played all 93 offensive snaps against the Aggies.
A&M entered the game with the nation’s No. 2 scoring defense. The Rebels’ 257 yards rushing were the most allowed by the Aggies this season — and the unit had not allowed more than 90 yards rushing in their three prior games. Saturday’s game marked only the second time this season that an A&M opponent tallied more than 500 yards total offense.
Caden Costa
The Rebels’ true freshman kicker went 2-for-2 on field goal attempts against the Aggies, as he drilled kicks from 32 and 33 yards. He was also perfect on PATs, going 3-for-3.
The Mandeville, Louisiana native is 13-for-16 thus far this season on field goal attempts and is a perfect 8-for-8 inside forty yards. His 13 field goals are the most by a true freshman since 2006 when Joshua Shene connected on 14 attempts.
