Shark Snacks: Cracker Candy

Shark Snacks: Cracker Candy

In the spirit of Halloween, this week’s recipe is for a sweet and salty treat. You probably already have most of, if not all, the ingredients.

Here’s hoping the Rebels have a treat for us and tricks for Auburn on Saturday too!

Cracker Candy

Ingredients

  • Approximately 36 Saltines (one sleeve)
  • 1 c butter (2 sticks, and do NOT use margarine!)
  • 1 c light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 c (1 bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

-Line a 10×15 baking sheet with tin foil, and spray with Pam.

-Preheat oven to 400°

-Completely cover the baking sheet with a single layer of saltines.

-Combine butter and brown sugar in a boiler. Stir constantly until butter is melted and mixture is boiling. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.

-Add vanilla, stir, and pour over the crackers.

-Bake 5 minutes at 400°

-Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the crackers.

-Let sit for 5 minutes, and then smooth the chocolate over the top. It should be melted at this point.

-Chill in the refrigerator until set. Then break into small pieces.
