Sam Williams, Chance Campbell Earn SEC Weekly Honors
The Ole Miss defense showed out Saturday in the Rebels’ 31-17 win over LSU at Vaught-Hemingway. As a result of their performances, linebacker Chance Campbell and defensive lineman Sam Williams, Sr. have earned weekly honors from the SEC as announced by the league office Monday.
Campbell earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week accolades after tallying 10 total tackles, a forced fumble and a sack in the win over the Tigers. The Maryland graduate transfer was key to the defense holding LSU to just 77 yards rushing in the game.

Campbell ranks fourth in the SEC with an average of 8.0 tackles per game.
Williams Sr., a senior from Montgomery, Alabama, earned SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week honors. He currently leads the SEC and ranks No. 4 in FBS with 1.07 sacks per game.

Williams’ 7.5 total sacks are tied for the most by any Rebel in a single season since 2016. Against the Tigers, he forced a fumble, notched one sack and a quarterback hurry.
