Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin does “not feel good” about QB Matt Corral’s status for LSU game

OXFORD, Miss. — It is hard for Ole Miss fans to imagine what next year will be like when quarterback Matt Corral has made his move to the NFL. Let’s hope we don’t find out this season.

In his Monday press conference, head coach Lane Kiffin indicated his Heisman candidate QB is banged up after the Rebels’ win over Tennessee.

He’s not in very good shape. He has not been for the last two days. You guys know how we are on injuries. Hopefully he will play, but I do not feel good about that right now.

Corral carried the ball 30 times for 195 yards in the 31-26 win over the Vols, more carries than any other Rebel has since 2007 when BenJarvus Green-Ellis carried 33 times.

Kiffin said the running backs will need to step up to insure Corral doesn’t have to carry the ball so many times. The Rebels’ quarterback missed one play in the fourth quarter against the Vols but returned for the following drive.

We will keep you posted as we receive updates.
