Devontae Shuler Inks Camp Deal with Wizards

OXFORD, Miss. — Former Ole Miss star Devontae Shuler is heading to the Washington Wizards. Shuler spent the summer league playing for the Dallas Mavericks organization but has since signed a training camp contract with the Wizards.

We soon may know the intentions for Shuler based on the Wizard’s next move. NBA teams are allowed to have 20 players on their training camp roster. Then they are to trim the roster down to fifteen. The Wizards have 14 guaranteed contracts on the books and one-two way (Cassius Winston). If Shuler is waived in the coming days, it means the Wizards want to retain him for their G-League affiliate.

At Ole Miss, Shuler averaged 15.3 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game as a senior. He started 90 games for Ole Miss over four seasons and was the unquestioned leader of the Rebels this past year.

We wish you the best Shuler, keep working!
