Ole Miss junior Tyler Keenan named SEC Co-Player of the Week

OXFORD, Miss. – After an outstanding series against Princeton where he drove in 12 runs and notched three extra-base hits, Tyler Keenan was named the SEC Co-Player of the Week, the fourth consecutive weekly honor for Ole Miss baseball this season.

Against Princeton, Keenan hit .500, including two doubles and a home run, tallied 12 RBI and scored five runs.

The North Carolina native entered the series with the Tigers with 12 RBI on the season, before doubling it to 24 when all was said and done. That ranks Keenan first in the SEC and fifth in the country in runs batted in, and he is now sporting a nine-game hitting streak while having driven in at least one run in each of the last five games. He has also reached base in all 15 games so far this season.

Keenan leads the team in RBI, is tied for the team lead with four doubles and is second with four home runs.

Rebel award streak continues

Keenan joins Cael Baker, Doug Nikhazy and Braden Forsyth as the fourth Rebel to earn a weekly honor this season. This marks the fourth SEC weekly honor of Keenan’s career. He was named Player of the Week once and Freshman of the Week twice in 2018.
